Vocabulary Quiz #9 is tomorrow!
Today we began discussing the long term causes of the Civil War. We explained how certain events caused other events to happen and that in the years leading to the War it was as if dominoes were falling making war seemingly inevitable. Today we reviewed various land expansions such as the Louisiana Purchase and the Mexican Cession and how they led to the Missouri Compromise and the Compromise of 1850.
There will be a quiz on Vocabulary #9 on Friday.

Today we discussed Supreme Court cases under the Marshall Court and how they impacted nationalism in the era prior to the Civil War. We also began discussing Andrew Jackson's presidency.

Today we continued our discussion about sectionalism in the time period prior to the Civil War in the United States. We also discussed the emergence of nationalism with items such as the Monroe Doctrine and the Erie Canal.
