2019-2020
Students who earned 5's on the exam
This year's students faced unprecedented circumstances----our last day of in person class was March 12th. We finished the curriculum and reviewed for the exam via distance learning. Students then took an abbreviated version of the exam online. Instead of their scores being based on four parts it was just one--the DBQ and they only had 45 minutes to write it!
Not only did my students adapt to unbelievable new circumstances, they rose to the challenge! Our pass rate continued to be significantly higher than then national average and we had more students than ever taking the exam. Beyond that, the students maintained their sense of community despite setbacks like our field trip being cancelled. They pushed forward to ensure that we still had a class t-shirt and even created a new design.
I am so proud of all of my students this year. You are all inspiring and wonderful people! <3
